OZIL WINS

The German midfielder of Arsenal that cost €42.5 for Arsene Wenger and his men to bring him to the Premier League was awarded with the German Player of the Year for the 3rd season in a row as he fended off Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller to secure the prize for another consecutive year.

Even though Ozil came at a fairly high price for Arsenal, the German has made an impressive debut season in the Premier League as the squad of Arsene Wenger is now at the top of the league and have become serious title contenders.

He told German FA’s official website: “The 2013 was a very turbulent time for me with my move from Madrid to London.

“The award makes me proud and happy, because above all, it was carried out by the fans. The award for me, is an obligation to have a successful 2014 World Cup. I still play every international game as though it is my first.”
Ozil is one of the top goal-scorers of Arsenal this season along with Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud which just shows how fast he has adapted to the playing style of not only a different club but another country as well as he made his transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal.

When speaking to the press about his situation in his new club, he had nothing but praise about Arsenal and stated that he feels comfortable playing in the Premier League.

“I feel comfortable here. You can see on the pitch when we play together that we have a very good understanding. The team is great and for me it’s been very easy to settle – the German players here have helped me to establish myself quicker than I perhaps would have done were they not here’’.

“But ultimately I feel pleased. The people are very friendly and welcoming.” Ozil stated.
