The manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, has disclosed now that he likes Arturo Vidal and he is interested in securing his services.
Vidal, who is presently contracted to the Serie A team Juventus, is on the radar of Manchester United as well.
The Gunners are likely to go into the upcoming season with two of their midfielders not available due to various reasons. While, Abou Diaby is suffering from injury, Mikel Arteta is expected to make his way to the Spanish club Athletic Bilbao.
So, it has become essential for Wenger now to look for a quality player in the midfield if he has to get off to a good start in the league next season.
In one of his interviews a few days ago, Vidal had said that he would not be willing to feature for a club that’s not taking part in the European Cup. So, from that statement of his, a conclusion can be drawn that he would not like to play for Manchester United, but, it’s hard to imagine a player rejecting the offer of a club like Manchester United just for that very reason.
As far as Juventus is concerned, they haven’t hinted yet that they are keen to put Vidal on sale. But, if the reports are to be believed, Arsenal has planned to offer them an amount of over 40 million Pounds as transfer fee and they, in all likelihood, would get lured by that much money.
Manchester United would also not mind paying a big amount for Vidal though. So, the scenario is getting very interesting. It’s the player who has to make the choice eventually.
Vidal has gone from strength to strength in the last couple of years and has emerged as one of the best playmakers in the game.
