English football club Arsenal is keeping an eye on Croatian footballer Alen Halilovic. The London club might irritate Tottenham, their north London rivals, by doing a move in January. Earlier, north London club Tottenham has been linked with a move for Alen. Reports suggest that a contract was close to completion. There were reports regarding the reason that the contract with Tottenham fell through.

Shay Chen, the agent of Alen Halilovic, stated that the Croatian footballer’s present Dinamo Zagreb are demanding a high fee for the seventeen year old star;  but some other reports suggest that player’s family members could be blocking a move by asking guarantees about playing time.

News of a contract to send Alen to CSKA Moscow as Keisuke Honda’s replacement have proved baseless and likewise there has been no substantiation of suggestions that the footballer may have agreed to join German giants Bayern Munich at the season’s end.

According to reports, Arsenal could be able to snatch Alen out of Tottenham. However, the Gunners, are not likely to be able to offer greater guarantees regarding playing with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil on the books at Emirates, but remain affirmative that Arsene Wenger’s repute for youth development could yet sweep a contract in Arsenal’s favor.
