Premier League club Arsenal have been handed a huge transfer boost in their bid to secure the permanent signing of Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard who is currently on loan at the Emirates Stadium. The 21-year-old midfielder joined Arsenal in a season-long loan deal that saw him spend the entire 2020-21 season at the London club.
After it was confirmed that Arsenal would not be playing European football next season, there were fears that they will find it difficult to attract top transfer targets to the club but there is a little hope now that they could still sign some stars in the transfer window after Odegaard revealed that he is happy at the club.
The Norwegian midfielder told the club’s official website that he is loving his stay at the club and would also fancy the idea of continuing his career at the Emirates but stated that he wants to first know what his parent club Real Madrid think of the idea. The midfielder said even though he likes life under Arteta at Arsenal, his permanent exit from Madrid would still have to be sanctioned by Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane.
Odegaard’s words will provide comfort for Arsenal fans and also offer them hope that they can still sign some targets this summer even without European football for next season.
