Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla says that the club are extremely lucky to have a player like Alexis Sanchez in their ranks. The Chilean was brought to the club last summer for £ 35 million from Barcelona. He made an instant impact by scoring a number of goals in the first half of the 2014-15 season. Even though his performances dipped in the second half of the campaign, Sanchez was still considered as one of the top players based on stats. He has rediscovered his scoring touch in recent weeks and his latest goal against Aston Villa in the FA Cup final is proof of that.
The 26-year-old ended the campaign with 24 goals to his name from 42 matches. This is an impressive statistic for someone who is playing in the Premier League for the first time in his career. Cazorla expects Sanchez to become even better in the coming years. Having signed the player for just £ 35 million, Cazorla now feels that it has become a bargain deal. Arsenal will be looking to sign a couple of players like Sanchez in order to take some of the pressure away from the 26-year-old. After back-to-back FA Cup successes, the league title will undoubtedly be on the minds of Arsene Wenger and his team.
“Alexis is an amazing player. We’re lucky he plays for us and I’m very happy for him.We are very happy. We played well. We are very focused. We played with intensity. This is the most important thing for us.If we play like that, we have a chance to get the title next year. The most important thing is to rest well, prepare for the next season and I’m sure next year we’ll be better,” said Cazorla, who finished the season with seven goals and 13 assists.
